Mr. Michael Rodney McCarter, age 54, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Greenville, SC on November 6, 1955 to the late John D. and Vicky Sotolongo McCarter. Michael was self employed as a tree surgeon. He was of the Baptist Faith.Survivors include his wife, Janette Walton McCarter of Blue Ridge; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Tamara McCarter of Starke, FL, Michael and Emily McCarter of Starke, FL and Thomas and Marni Nicholas of North Carolina; daughters and sons-in-law, Evon and Hal Nicholas of Morganton, GA, Rose McCarter of Lake City, FL, Misty McCarter of Lake City, FL and Nicole McCarter of Lake City, FL; brothers, David McCarter of SC and Anthony McCarter, GA; sisters, Patricia and husband, Kenneth Barlow, Tina Hughes, Donna Ward and Suzanne Kosie; grandchildren, Tommy Niknezhed, Justin Hall and many other grandchildren.A memorial service was conducted on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Anthony McCarter officiating.
