The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Michael L. Green, age 47, of the Life Care Center in Ducktown, TN who passed away on Tuesday March 11, 2008 following an extended illness. He was born in Polk County, TN on September 27, 1960. Mr. Green graduated in 1978 from Copper Basin High School and was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include his parents, Thomas H. and Faye Green of Ducktown, TN; biological mother, Shirley Jean Baliles of MI; brother and sister-in-law, David H. and Lisa Green of Farner, TN; sister and brother in law, Pamela and Matt Urse of Bridgeport, WV; step brothers and sisters, Robert Threet of Florence, AL, Teresa Threet and Diana Williamson both of Dallas, TX; aunts and uncles, Mary Ann and Todd Brown of Dalton, GA and Willie and Monty Green of Postelle, TN; nieces and nephews, Alaina Green, Courtney Ramsey, Madison Green, Beth White, Olivia Urse, Kyle Green, Tyler Ramsey, John and Chris Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday March 13, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge with Rev. Doug Payne officiating. Music will be provided by Stella Chapman and Sarah Kate Chapman. Interment will follow in the Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Todd Brown, John Brown, Chris Brown, Matt Urse, David Green and Tyler Ramsey.
