Michael Leroy Davenport, age 58, of Morganton, GA passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home. He was born on May 30, 1962 in Ellijay, GA to the late Hubert 'Paul' Davenport and Mildred Carolyn Neal Davenport. Michael worked as a self employed carpenter for many years. He was of the Baptist faith as a member of River Hill Baptist Church in Gilmer County. Michael is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sherry Kincaid. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Pat Davenport; children, Tracy (Josh Wheeler) Davenport of West Virginia, Amanda (Brandon Dell) Davenport of Blue Ridge, GA, Emily (Caleb Hyde) Davenport of Morganton, GA, and honorary daughter, Kellie Young of Morganton, GA; siblings, Terry (Becky) Davenport of Blue Ridge, and brother in Christ, Steve Bolling of Blue Ridge; brother-in-law, Larry Kincaid; grandchildren, Taylor Pratt of West Virginia, Isaiah Dell of Blue Ridge, and Jaycie Pratt of West Virginia; and nieces and nephew, Andy (Jessica) Rogers, Dusty (Nikki) Davenport, Sueanda (Travis) Hoosier and Tommilynn Jordan. Funeral services were conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from River Hill Baptist Church in Gilmer County with Rev. Phillip Davenport officiating. Music was provided by Patsy Davenport, Ronald and Linda Hyde, Steve Bolling, and Eli Wishon. Graveside services followed from the River Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Dusty Davenport, Alex Alsobrook, Darrell Alsobrook, Eli Wishon, Alan Sisson, and Dale Pierce serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Bolling and Josh Wheeler. The family has requested any memorial contributions be made toward the final expenses of Mr. Davenport.
