Michael Vernon Chastain age 46, of Mineral Bluff passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Mineral Bluff, GA. Michael was born on January 1, 1971 in Chatsworth, GA to the late Jewel (Jay) Chastain and Joyce JoAnn Chastain. He worked at Advance Waste Disposal as a front end loader operator. Michael was a member of New River Baptist Church.Survivors are sons, Stephen Chastain (Anna) of Ellijay, GA, Michael Chastain Epworth, GA and John Henry Chastain of Epworth, GA; daughters, Cassie Rose (Anthony) of McCaysville, GA, Briana Chastain of Newport, TN, Madison Chastain of Newport, TN and Alyson Chastain of Epworth, GA; brothers, Larry Chastain of Blue Ridge, GA and Michael Chastain of OH; sister, Victoria Oidtman of OH and two grandsons, Thomas Rose and Leland Jinks also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. from Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Doug Stiles officiating. Pallbearers were Stephen Chastain, Anthony Rose, Jerry Chastain, David Guthrie, Robert Panter and Richie Walker. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Advance Disposal Employees, Stephen White, Chis Wines, Buddy Queen and Scott Mealer. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park.
