Michael "Mike" Earl Chambers, Sr. age 67, of Morganton, GA passed away on January 24, 2026 in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born in Newfoundland, Canada on January 5, 1959. Mike was the son of the late Earl and Lily Jenks Chambers. Mike retired from the United States Forest Service as a Civil Engineer Technician after 43 years of faithful service. He was a dedicated member of the Toccoa Baptist Church. He was a talented musician who enjoyed singing and playing the drums. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors, deer hunting, fishing, and camping. Most of all, Mike enjoyed quality time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Denise Davis Chambers; son, Michael Earl Chambers, Jr (Adrian) and Jodie Chambers Bennett; grandchildren, Lily Bennett, Maci Bennett, Bronson Chambers and Cambrie Chambers; siblings and their spouses, Patrick and Joan Meaney, Joselyn and David Fagan, Betty Ann and Glenn Roberts, Pamela and Wallace Porter, and Jeffrey and Angela Meaney; and host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. John Newton and Rev. Kelly Maynard officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Grady Ray. Interment followed in the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Michael Chambers Jr., Ryan McDaris, David Davis, Michael Bennett, Andy Crawford, and Paul Robinson. Selected to serve as honorary pallbearers were: Elijah Grindstaff, T.J. Dickey, Trey Robinson, Bronson Chambers, Ayden Fountain, and Jackson Fountain. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and also on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
