Merton Frank Dibble, age 88, of Morganton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at his home. He was born in Caro, MI, on January 16, 1935, to the late Sherman T. Dibble and Mary Evelyn Derbyshire Dibble. He served in the United States Navy from 1953 until 1957. He graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1961 with degrees in Geology and Ores Processing. He worked as an engineer and consultant. He was a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Dwight Dibble; two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Annette Kohl Dibble; daughter, Lynette Ann Phillips; grandson, Jacob Phillips; sister-in-law, Barbara Dibble; and nieces and nephews, Marylou Pavlovich, Charles Schmalz, Mike Schmalz, Eric Dibble, Janet McMahon, and Terri Gasner.
