Mr. Melvin Harley Talley, age 65, of Lilburn, GA passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 in Anderson, SC. He was born in Polk County, TN on May 25, 1943. Mr. Talley worked as an ironworker. He was a member of the Atlanta Ironworkers Local #387 in Atlanta, GA. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Talley was preceded in death by his father Harley Talley and his daddy I.J. Deal, Jr. He is survived by a son, James Talley of Dacula, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Jeremy Duffy of Dacula, GA; mother, Marie Galloway Deal of Copperhill, TN; brothers, Jeff Deal of Copperhill and Newell Deal of Eton, GA; sisters, Juanita Gazzaway of Monticello, GA, Rebecca Davis of Delano, TN, Jeri Trantham of Copperhill, Margie Akens of Delano, TN, Faye Queen of Blue Ridge, Tammy Kimsey of Turtletown, Judy Earley of Blue Ridge, and Pam Huff of Blue Ridge; two grandchildren, Baylee and Kendall Duffy; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Mt. View Baptist Church with Rev. David O'Neal and Rev. Eric Waters officiating. Music was by The Deal Family. The following nephews served as pallbearers: Derrick Davis, Joseph Chapman, Scott Trammell, Justin Deal, Mitchell Queen, Anthony Deal, Chad Kimsey, Drew Earley, and Michael Earley.
