Mrs. Maymie Dyer Taylor, age 82, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away April 26, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Taylor was born on October 15, 1932 in Pikeville, TN to the late William Lester "Heck" Dyer and Susie Miller Dyer. Mrs. Taylor owned her own floral business, loved to garden, enjoyed horseback riding, and was a superb marksman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She is preceded in death by her husband, William S. Taylor.Mrs. Taylor is survived by her sister, Bess Humble of Houston, TX; her sons Greg Taylor of Blue Ridge, GA, William Dirk Taylor & wife Suzanne Taylor of Blue Ridge, GA; her grandchildren, William Dirk Taylor Jr., Leslie Taylor Riddoch & husband Mason Riddoch, and Zachary Taylor.Memorial Services for Mrs. Taylor will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel, with Rev. Tim Taylor and Father Brendan Doyle officiating. Music will be by Pastor Denise Caldwell, Denise Tallent, and The BacTracs. Ralph Green, Mike Key, Randall Hurd, Stephen Harvey, Dennis Harvey, and Gary Taylor will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment in Chastain Memorial Park will be held at a later date. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 12:00-2:00 PM.
