Maude Lee Sparks, age 85, of Copperhill, TN passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. Maude was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a daughter of the late Tom and Lou Nix Hicks. She was a member of Coletown Baptist Church and was preceded in death by sons, Franklin Sparks and Jackson Sparks and granddaughter, Teree Sparks Stone. She is survived by daughter, Norma Jean Sparks of Copperhill,TN; sister, Nell Olvey of Copperhill, TN; Special daughter-in-law, Joan Sparks of Cleveland, TN; four grandchildren Terry Sparks, Tammy Martin, Emily Sparks and Robin Stephens; six great-grandchildren Kaley Martin, Nickie Stephens, Colton Mull, Jake Sparks, Joey Sparks and Austin Stone; two great-great grandchildren Lane and Leah Crawford. A private graveside service was conducted Friday, May 14, 2010 in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ray Harper and Rev. Guinn Green officiating. Pallbearers included John Stephens, Bee Hicks, Clifton Hicks, Terry Sparks, Matt Childs and Rev. Guinn Green. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
