Mattie Virginia "Jean" Watkins, age 79 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 at home. She was born on Thursday, May 3, 1934 in Copperhill, TN to the late June and Lizzie Kinser. She was a homemaker and a member of New Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, Luther James Watkins of Blue Ridge; son, Roy Watkins of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Earl Dunn of Blue Ridge, GA; three grandchildren, William and Alexandria Watkins, Vickie Douthitt and Eric Thurman; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.Funeral services were conducted on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. from Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.
