Mrs. Mary Ellen Carpenter Wright, age 85, passed away on August 6, 2014. Born in Hurst, GA she was the daughter of the late George and Alice Frye Carpenter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred E. Wright; two sons, Billy and John Robert Wright; and one grandson, Michael Millholland. She was a loving mother and enjoyed farming, gardening and canning. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Mary and Archie Wilson of Blue Ridge, GA, Freddie and Shirley Wright of Copperhill, TN and Kathy and Bobby Jones of Blairsville, GA; brother, Roy Carpenter of Blairsville, GA; sisters, Mabel Stepp of Morganton, GA and Laura Chaney of Villa Rica, GA; grandchildren, Scarlet Revie of Tampa, FL, Melissa Sutherland of Baton Rouge, LA and Trinity Lovvorn of New York, NY; great grandchildren, Chase Lovvorn, Dustin Millholland, Benjamin Sutherland, Adam and Luke Sutherland and Carson Revie. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, August 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Taylor officiating. Music will be provided by Margaret Ferguson. Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
