Mary Helen Winkler, age 72 of Morganton, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013, at her home. She was a native of Fannin County,daughter of the late Claude Yancey Ledford and Ruby Lee Porter Ledford. Mrs. Winkler was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Wilburt Winkler; sister, Lucille Harper; brother, Earl Ledford and nephew, Allen Harper.She is survived by children, Tony (Sandra) Winkler of Cisco, GA, Terry (Tenna) Winkler of McCaysville, GA, Bobby (Terri) Winkler, Yancy (Misha) Winkler all of Blue Ridge, Mary Kay (Michael) Knight of McCaysville, GA, Brenda Winkler and Glenda Dockrey both of Blue Ridge, grandchildren, A.J. Winkler, T.J. Winkler, Dana Tanner, Jessica Strout, Daniel Cross, John Cross, Alisha Winkler, Erika Winkler, Michael, Christy, Bridgette, Brittany and Isabella Dockrey, Austin Knight, Justin Knight, Alex Knight, Riley Knight, Whitney Winkler and Haley Winkler; step-grandchildren, Christina Cross and Dwayne Cross; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ted Harper; sister-in-law, Sue Aaron and many other relatives and friends.Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Mike Collis officiating. Interment followed in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Pallbearers were Austin Knight, Michael Dockrey, Justin Knight, Perry Ledford, Darren Ledford and Jeff Ledford.
