Obituary

Mrs. Mary L. Stewart, age 68, of Snake Nation Rd. Blue Ridge passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2009 at her home following a battle with pancreatic cancer surrounded by her family. Born in Cullman, AL, she was the daughter of the late Richard T. and Maggie Johnson McBrayer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of the O'Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Stewart was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles "Bo" Stewart. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, William and Cyndi Stewart, James and Annette Penwell and Mike and Rose Penwell all of Blue Ridge, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Hogan and Dennis Hoffman of Blue Ridge, GA, Barbara and Ronnie Fair of Blue Ridge, GA, Mary Beth Stewart and Marty Dwayne Millsaps of Taylorsville, GA; special great grand daughter, Sky Stewart of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Ivarene McBrayer , Junior McBrayer and Wade and Joe McBrayer all of Cullman, AL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hazel and Ray Sanford, Margie and Rock Pigg, Dorothy and Bobby Johnson, and Shirley Conn and Donald Dingwitz all of Cullman, AL; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.Funeral Services were conducted on Saturday March 7, at 4:00 p.m. from the O'Zion Baptist Church with Rev. J.D. Thomas, Rev. Michael Pope and Rev. Jeff Fair officiating. Music was provided by the O'Zion Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in the Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Ronnie Fair, Dennis Hoffman, Dwayne Millsaps, Chris Reed, Steven Perego, Jason Perego, William Stewart, James Penwell, and Mike Penwell. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Stewart to the Ronald McDonald House at 200 Central Ave. Chattanooga, TN 37403 or at www.rmchattanooga.com.
