Mary Lea Wright Patterson, age 94, of Trenton, GA, formerly of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Trenton. She was born on September 14, 1929 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Thomas Avery Wright and Martha Thomas Wright. She was born and raised on the Wright Family farm with her seven brothers.Mary was of the Baptist faith, and a devoted member of Rising Fawn Baptist Church in Rising Fawn, GA. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Copperhill, TN. In her spare time, she thoroughly enjoyed gardening, where she grew a variety of vegetables and flowers. She also enjoyed canning her vegetables and cooking for others. She was an active member of the Dade County Senior Center and volunteered at the Dade County Head Start. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Winston Avery Patterson; and siblings, Roy Wright, Charlie Wright, Sam Wright, Leonard Wright, William "Bill" Wright, Frank Wright, and Eugene Wright.

She is survived by her daughters, Nobie Adams of Chatsworth, GA and Jane (Martin) Jansen Van Rensburg of Ider, AL; grandchildren, Tara Underwood and Kenna Adams; and great-grandchildren, Brett Adams-Hayes, Sawyer Van Rensburg, and Sloan Van Rensburg.

Funeral Services were conducted on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Tommy Crider and Rev. Robby Dunn officiating. Music was provided by the Farmer family. Interment followed in the Barnes Chapel Church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: James Sluder, Raland Patterson, Ralph Wright, Johnny McKinney, Freddy Rice, and Billy Joe Rice. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, October 10, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
