Mary Jane Montgomery, age 77 of Ducktown, TN passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018. Mary Jane was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a daughter of the late William Andrew Hughes and Delphia Marr Hughes. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church and a fifty-year member of the Friendship Chapter #499 O.E.S. She retired from Gold Kist. Mary Jane had volunteered at the Copper Basin Crisis Center and was active in her church organizations. Mary Jane was the last survivor of ten children. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Kenneth John Montgomery, Sr. of Ducktown, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny (Penny) Montgomery of Ducktown, TN, Brian (Laura) Montgomery of Cleveland, TN, Sam (Dana) Montgomery of Jasper, TN; twelve grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends also survive. Memorial services were conducted Sunday, August 26, 2018 from the Maple Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Al Patterson and Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Music was by Brenda Jones and Debbie Mull.
