Mrs. Mary A. Monahon, age 89, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010. She was a native of Paulsboro, New Jersey and was a daughter of the late Paul and Leonora Morabite Minnitti. Mrs. Monahon retired as a seamstress and was of Catholic Faith. She was a "Goldstar" mother and a lifetime member of the Army-Navy Garrison and the VFW Auxiliary of National Park, NJ. Mrs. Monahon was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Monahon, Sr., three sons, Larry, Bobby and James, Jr. Monahon, great grandson, Jacob Jones and longtime friend and companion, Jake Zimmer. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Anthony John and Mary Monahon of Moseley, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Wayne Jones of Copperhill, TN; brother, Toni Anthony Minnitti of San Diego, CA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; five great great grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Monahon was cremated. A memorial service was Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mount Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Lew Crawford officiating. Music was by Ann Prince and Amy Crawford.
