Mrs. Mary Delores Jones, age 76 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at her home. She was born in Polk County, TN on December 12, 1931 to the late Harley Edgar "Buster" Payne and Jessie Lee German Payne. She worked as a creeler for World Carpet from which she retired. Se was a member of Isabella Baptist Church, was a volunteer at the Polk County Senior Citizen Center, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Fannin Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Lynn Chastain; husband, James Clifford Chastain, and sister, Bernice Ray. She is survived by her husband, Alvie R. Jones of Blue Ridge; stepdaughters, Connie Harrison and husband Jerry of Mineral Bluff, Jo Ann Vick and husband Freddie of Ellijay, and Betty Jones of Blue Ridge; stepson, Steve Jones of Jackson, SC; brother, Charles Payne and wife Ruth Ann of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Betty Ray of McCaysville and Linda McClure of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren, Vicki Chastain-Estes and Christopher Lee Chastain; great grandchildren, Owen Michael Loudermilk and Carson Alexander Loudermilk; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Jess Posey and Rev. Billy Ray Queen officiating. Music was by Lori O'Neal and Hannah Vick. Pallbearers were Freddy Vick, Jerry Harrison, Thomas Twitty, Dale Ray, Junior Ray, David McClure, and Chris Chastain.
