The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Mary Ellen (Sisson) Elrod, age 73, of Dallas, Ga., who passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at her home in Dallas, Ga. Mrs. Elrod was a self employed house restorer and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a native of Fannin County, daughter of the late Chester and Jane Sisson.She is survived by her husband Buddy Elrod of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Leslie Webb of Douglasville, Ga., one son and daughter-in-law Randy and Sherry Elrod of Dallas, Ga., four grandchildren, Shane Brooks, Michael Webb, Bridget Duke and Joshua Elrod. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 1, at 2:00 PM from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel. The Family will meet with friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 PM.
