Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Patterson Dalton, age 75, of the Life Care Center passed away on Thursday October 8, 2009. Born in Polk County, TN she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Maude Messer Patterson. She was a long time member of the Mt. Zion Tumbling Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Dalton was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Waters, Clyde Patterson and Simon Patterson; six sisters, Velma Paulk, Beulah Locke, Linda Dalton, Gal Patterson, Dollie Patterson and Charlsie Mealer. Survivors include her husband, Everett William Dalton of Copperhill, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Carol and Charles O'Neal and Glenda and George Deal both of Copperhill, TN; brother, George Patterson of Dalton, GA; sister, Elmyra Patterson of Marietta, GA; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.Funeral services were conducted on Saturday October 10, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clifton Patterson and Rev. Billy Waters officiating. Music was provided by Kenny and David O'Neal, and J.D. Caraway. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Tumbling Creek Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Daniel West, Matthew Deal, David O'Neal, Jeff Beavers, Wesley Dalton, and Tommy Bowen.
