Mrs. Marty Delorise Shoemaker, age 63, of Doraville, GA formerly of Blue Ridge passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2008 in the Gwinnett Medical Center. Born in Fannin County, GA she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Euzella Green Setser. She worked for many years in Suzanne's Kitchen Food Distribution Plant in Norcross, GA. Mrs. Shoemaker was a member of the O'Zion Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who also shared a great love for all animals. Mrs. Shoemaker was also preceded in death by a brother, Waldon "Satch" Setser; sisters, Nora Jean Reed and Angie Ann Green; one grandson, Travis Bolling. Survivors included her husband Glenn Shoemaker of Doraville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Bearden of Rockmart, GA, Sammy and Brenda Bearden of Suwanee, GA and Russell and Kathy Shoemaker of Norcross, GA; daughter, Trudy Bolling of South Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, James "Richard" and Sue Setser of Jasper, GA; sister, Maxine Haygood of Mableton, GA; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ralph Green of Blue Ridge and daughter-in-law, Barbara Shoemaker of Cumming, GA. Funeral services were conducted on Friday April 4, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Swafford officiating. Music was provided by Tim Haygood, Belinda Pruitt and Beverly Dinsmore. Interment followed in the O'Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jeremy Shoemaker, Matthew Shoemaker, Christopher Bearden, Steven Jansson, Brandon Daniels, and James Daniels. Gleen Bearden served as a honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to help defray final expenses.
