Mrs. Martine P. (Mrs. Charlie) Davenport, age 86, of Marietta, GA passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. Mrs. Davenport was born on January 14, 1927 in Andrews, NC to the late Perry C. Parker, Sr. and Annie Grace Amos Parker. She worked as an administrative assistant for Atlanta Gas Light Company and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hassen Davenport; sisters, Clara Mae (Mrs. Troy) King and Gladys P. (Mrs. Don) Dieters; brother, Perry C. Parker, Jr. and Robert N. Parker. Mrs. Davenport was a very loving an caring person. All the people who knew her were very fortunate and blessed to have such a wonderful friend. She was a very loving sister and knd hearted to everyone she crossed paths with. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Jesus has received a very beautiful Angel. She is survived by her brother, Billy J. Parker of Waleska, GA; her sister, Peggy P. Asherbranner of Jasper, GA; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; special friend and caregiver who nurtured and loved dearly, Donna Stancil of Cumming, GA; and her faithful canine companion, Lucy. Funeral services were held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Pastor Brian K. Asherbranner officiating. Interment followed in Hemptown Cemetery.
