IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha Elizabeth "Beth" Little
Redman
August 7, 1943 – August 13, 2025
Martha Elizabeth "Beth" Little Redman passed peacefully on August 13, 2025 at the age of 82, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Tifton, Georgia and raised in Fruitland Park, Florida, Beth lived a life devoted to her faith, family, and the power of education. Alongside raising four daughters, she planted roots and built friendships across the South and Midwest, including in Searcy, Arkansas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Ashland, Alabama; Adrian, Minnesota; and Crofton, Maryland.
Beth proudly served in the United States Air Force in her early adulthood, a chapter that instilled in her the values of discipline, service, and resilience. She went on to earn her B.A. in Math and English Education from Bowie State University and took graduate coursework in education. Her professional journey included years as a substitute teacher, a Girl Scout leader, and most notably, as an Education Program Specialist in the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, where her work reflected her lifelong passion for helping others - especially vulnerable youth.
Beth was known for her fierce devotion to her family, her quiet strength, and her deep faith in Jesus. She was a longtime member of the church choir, finding joy and purpose in worship through song. She gave her daughters the gift of curiosity and adventure, taking them on historic road trips through Southern landmarks and making their educational experience fun. She enjoyed expressing herself in sign language, a skill she used often in the service and in love. Her favorite hymns- It Is Well, How Great Thou Art, and Amazing Grace - were often sung by her in times of comfort and prayer, and in times of joy, it had to be The Statler Brothers.
She is survived by her children, Sheri Lynn Thomas, Lisa Ann (Joe) Dent, Darla Beth Verdonck, and Kara Brie Redman; and their father, Walter Darr Redman. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Spencer Johnson-Dockery, Danielle Thomas, Isaac Thomas, Schuyler Thomas, Tyler Griest, Landon Verdonck, Kai Healey, Ryleigh Donohue, Shawna Verdonck, Journey Dailey, Jacoby Dent, Colton Verdonck, Taylor Verdonck, and Jeremiah Verdonck. She leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Nehemiah Dennis, Kathryn Dockery, Malakai Dockery, Parker Verdonck, Jadon Dockery, and Eloise Dailey- and a growing legacy of love.
Beth is preceded in death by her son, Larry Wayne Redman; her parents, Clarence Clifton Little and Dorothy Cameron Schlacks; and her brothers, David Little and Donald Little.
Beth found purpose in worship and fellowship, most recently attending First Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched with her generous spirit, steadfast faith, lifelong commitment to service and education, and her boundless, unconditional love. Or as she'd put it: she loves you gobs.
