Mrs. Martha Jean Newsome, age 87, of Cherry Log, GA passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Mrs. Newsome was born on July 29, 1924 in Economy, Indiana to the late Seldon Snodgress and Bertha Louise Smtih Snodgress. She was of the Methodist faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Newsome. She is survived by her brother, Howard Snodgress of Aurora, CO; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Ted Ganyard of Parker, CO; three nephews, Ted Ganyard, Gregory Ganyard, and Brett Ganyard; and two great nephews, Dylan Ganyard and Brandon Ganyard. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, May 4, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel.
