Martha Elaine Akins Crain, age 74, of Kennesaw, formerly of Polk County, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Born in Polk County on March 10, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Akins and Ebbie Pack Akins. She was a member of Turtletown Baptist Church. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Crain; children, Wendy Crain and Lisa Eller; and siblings, Jean Black, Margaret Richardson, Kenneth Akins, and Katherine Billings. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sandi Eller of Kennesaw, GA; sister, Rebecca Chastain of Blairsville, GA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other family also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Smith and Rev. Raymond Akens officiating. Music was by Nakema, Abbygail and Gracie Smith. Interment followed in the Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
