Marjorie McKinney Love, age 102, of Morganton, GA passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, March 24, 2013. Marjorie was the daughter of Michael and Edith McKinney and the granddaughter of Col. Michael McKinney, founder of Blue Ridge. Mrs. Love was a graduate of Mary P. Willingham School for Girls, Class of 1927. She was a member of the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, the choir, Vacation Bible School, Ladies Sunday School, MYF leader, and various administrative committees. Marjorie was a member of the Morganton Home Demonstration Club, the Mountain Regional Library Board, Morganton Chapter #394 Order of the Eastern Star, and the National Association for Retired Federal Employees. She retired after 26 years of service as a clerk in the Morganton Post Office. She was an accomplished pianist, and at age 80 took organ lessons for her own enjoyment. She was married to George T. Love, Jr. for fifty years until his death in 1979. Their family included 11 sons and 1 daughter. She was preceded in death by sons George, Charlie, James, Michael, Jerry, Stephen, David, and Donald; and 1 great grandson, Dennis. She is survived by children, Joseph. C. Love (Harriet) of Waleska, GA, John A. Love of Morganton, GA, Phillip D. Love (Kay) of Roswell, GA, and Marjorie Harrison (Michael) of Savannah, GA; daughters-in-law, Polly, Janet, and Sandra; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Burrell officiating. Eulogy was by Joseph Love. Music was by Karen Martin. Pallbearers were Ronald Love, Steve Love, Robert L. Love, Duane Love, Jason Love, Jonathan Love, and Mark Love. Interment will follow in the Morganton Methodist Cemetery in Morganton, GA. Donations in memory of Mrs. Love may be made to the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church Capitol Campaign P.O.
