Marjorie Rose Bennie, age 61, of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 in the Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital in Murphy, NC. Mrs. Bennie was born on April 11, 1964 in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She was a member of Turtletown Baptist Church and Co-Owner of Big Frog Florist. She was preceded in death by her parents John Luke Runion and Shelby Rose Talley Runion and a brother Jonathan Runion.

She is survived by her husband, Scotty Bennie of Murphy; children and spouses, Sonya and Al Lucarelli, Teddy and Anna Oliver, Jr., and Amanda and Daniel Costoulas; grandchildren, Madison Rose Costoulas, Mason Costoulas, Rya Oliver, Riley Oliver, and Hunter Oliver; sisters and spouses, Shelly Deanna Deal, Julia Suzetta and Eric Davis, Wanda Ledford, Traci and Darrell Habbinga, and Beverly and Joe Welch; and nieces and nephews and spouses, Rodney and Pam Patterson, Logan and Lindsey Davis, Denver and Gracie Davis, and Mattie Davis, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were conducted Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Chris Matheson officiating. Music was provided by Colby Ledford. Pallbearers were Jess Roberts, Joe Roberts, Denver Davis, Logan Davis, Daniel Costoulas, and Mason Costoulas. Honorary pallbearers were Boone Roberts and Rodney Patterson. Interment followed in the Turtletown Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David O'Neal officiating. The family visited with friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
