Mrs. Marjorie Harrison Barnes, age 81, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 at her home following an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Fannin County, daughter of the late Aliver Harrison and Martha Jane Freeman Harrison and was the wife of the late Gene Barnes. She was an emeritus member and charter member of Mary Chapter OES, and was a past matron. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church.She is survived by one daughter, Jayne Barnes Foster of Mineral Bluff; one son, Kenneth Gene Barnes and his wife Jeffie of Mineral Bluff; one sister, Grace Allen of Blue Ridge, GA; seven grandchildren, Clayton, Courtney, Randi and Skyler Foster, Amber Dahling, Kristin Barnes, and Jamie Newton; two great-grandchildren, Jaden Foster and Naomi Dahling, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Union Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Johnson and Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Interment followed in the Union Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Allen, Jacky Barnes, Clayton Foster, Ferrell Earley, Ed Lindley, and Michael Green.
