Marilyn Stillwell, age 78, of Canton, GA, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the North Side Hospital Cherokee. Born on August 18, 1939 in Copperhill, TN, she was the daughter of the late Ed James and Lonar Boggs Curtis. She was of the Baptist faith and had worked as a Nurse for many years. Also, preceding her in death includes her husband, Joseph Glenn Stillwell; children, Jeanette Lingerfelt and Jimmy Stillwell; brothers, Wade Curtis, Wayne Curtis, Junior Curtis and Charles Curtis; and one sister, Earlene Curtis. Her hobbies included enjoying time with her great grandchildren and sewing. She is survived by brothers, Rev. Max and Betty Curtis of Mineral Bluff, GA, James and Marsha Curtis of McCaysville, GA, and Bobby and Marie Curtis of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Carolyn Anderson; granddaughter, Mary and Gary Wade; grandson, Christopher Lingerfelt; great-grandchildren, Olivia Smith, Kaci Wade, Mollie Wade, Christopher Wade, and Brylee Wade. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 2:00 pm from Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge with Rev. Max Curtis officiating. Music will be provided by Becky Millsaps. Interment will follow in the Bethel Church Cemetery. Gary Wade, Jackie Anderson, Tommy Curtis, Donnie Millsaps, Bobby Joe Plush, and Rusty Call will serve as pallbearers. Christopher Lingerfelt has been selected to serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
