Marie Lynn Kilpatrick, age 87 of Murphy, NC, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024 at Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville. Marie was born in Tattnall County, GA to the late Walter W. Lynn and Fewquay Riner Lynn.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Mitch Kilpatrick; and sisters, Mary Flowers and Ann McCullough.

She is survived by her former husband, Bob Kilpatrick; daughter, Edie Kilpatrick; and sister Blanche Tanner.

Marie grew up in South Georgia, but spent many years living in Metro-Atlanta, where she worked for a number of companies, including at Southern Bell, the Veterans Administration, and Clorox. She also spent some time working as a substitute teacher.

Marie moved to Murphy, NC in the late 70's where she spent a number of years working at Murphy Medical Center. She was a member of Mt. Liberty Baptist Church in Murphy and volunteered for the local food pantry supported by the church.

A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park, GA beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Zack Orton officiating.
