Marie Galloway Deal, age 96, of Copperhill passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 at her home. She was born on June 15, 1925 in Fannin County, GA to the late James T. Galloway and Lily Mae Thomas Galloway. She worked as a seamstress at Levi's, and after, she worked for at several sewing plants in the area. Marie showed her love of the Lord and was a member of Mtn. View Baptist Church. She enjoyed bingo, quilting, gardening, canning, and her flowers. Marie loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Ira Jefferson "I.J." Deal, Jr; son, Melvin Talley; grandson, Frank Gazaway; and her parents; four brothers; and three sisters. Marie was survived by children, Juanita Gazaway of Monticello, GA, Rebecca (Larry) Davis of Delano, TN, Jeri (Randall) Trantham of Murphy, NC, Margie (Ray) Akens of Delano, TN, Faye (Rev. Billy) Queen of Blue Ridge, GA, Jeff (Pat) Deal of Copperhill, TN, Tammy (Charles) Kimsey of Turtletown, TN, Newell (Sondra) Deal of Chatsworth, GA, Judy (Mike) Earley of Epworth, GA, and Pam (Rev. Mark) Huff of Blue Ridge, GA; twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from Mtn. View Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Waters and Rev. Grayson Jones officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Kenny O'Neal, Cody and Tamra Payne. Interment followed in the Mtn. View Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Derrick Davis, Scott Trammell, Joseph Chapman, James Chapman, Mitchell Queen, Chad Kimsey, Anthony Deal, Michael Earley, Drew Earley, and James Talley.
