Marie Jane Panter Burch, affectionately known as "Aunt Tootsie", age 84, of Jonesboro, GA, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015. Mrs. Burch was a native of Copperhill, TN and was a daughter of the late Elisha and Gertrude Bell Panter. She had attended Lee College and Carol Lynn Business School. She wrote beautiful poetry and loved music and singing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend and aunt to many nieces and nephews.She is survived by her daughters, Carol Patterson of Jonesboro, GA and Donna Harris of Anniston, AL; grandchildren, Christy (Jayson) Bass, Leslie (Rusty) Reid, David (Crystal) Irwin, Matthew (Lauren) Harris, Tyler (Katherine) Harris of Birmingham, AL; great grandchildren, Jarron, Alex Lynn, Jake, Tucker, Addison, Braxton, Maleigha, Sarah, Whitten, lane and Lily. She is also survived locally by a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Ray Montgomery officiating. Music will be by Rev. Ray & Rita Montgomery and Darla Patterson. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill (Airport Road) cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill in charge of the local arrangements. .
