Margie Beatrice Hicks, age 78, of Turtletown passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at her home. Margie was born on December 7, 1946 in Reliance, TN to the late Joseph Benjamin Swann and Elsie Susie Elvira Holland Swann. She worked as a seamstress in both Cleveland and Farner, TN for 30 years. Her last 20 years of employment was spent at the Copper Basin Medical Center in the dietary department. Margie took great pride in time at the hospital. She also took great pleasure in keeping her home and spending time on the front porch.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Ward Swann, Donald Swann, J.T. Swann, Alice Elizabeth "Becky" Baine, Lois Prince, Clarine Moats, Pauline "Polly" Skelton, Bobbie Gresham, Ellen Swann, Doris "Dot" Lowe, and Josephine "Jo" HIcks.

Margie is survived by her husband, Melvin Hicks of the home; daughters, Victoria Michelle (James) Burns of Johnson City, TN, and Karen Melissa Best of Plainville, GA; son, Jeremy Hickman of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, J Burns, Melissa Burns, Jessica Hickman, Elizabeth Burns (Jerardo) Guerrero, Heather Ward, Rebecca Burns, and Jeffrey Cochran; and sisters, Jenny Sue McFarland of Etowah, TN, and Cleo Irene Swann of Benton, TN.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Smith officiating. Music was provided by Stacy Mashburn. Interment followed in the Brock Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, John Hicks, Eli Hicks, Troy Hicks, Lee Nicholson, Caston Allen, and Camden Allen. Honorary pallbearers were Stacy Mashburn, Jeff Mashburn, and Pearle Mashburn. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
