Margie Sue Allen, age 85, of Copperhill passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at home. Margie was born on February 21, 1939 in Copperhill to the late James Claude Humphrys and Nora Hyatt Humphrys. She worked as a custodian for the Copper Basin School System, Cities Service, and the Polk County Sheriff's Department. Margie was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles, and her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Nora Humphrys; and siblings, Betty Crawford and infant brother.

She is survived by her children, Tammy (Steve) Gaddis, Steve (Tammy) Allen, Larry (Karen) Allen, Nora Farner, and Twyla (Mike) Cochran; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kenny) Newman, Steven (Kaori) Gaddis, Cody (Sarah) Farner, Sheena (Anthony) Rymer, Hope (Bradley) Schuknecht, Cory Allen, Tyler Allen, Michael "Hoss" (Ashley) Cochran, Logan (Amanda) Allen, Chad (Jessica) Cochran, Bryson Allen, and Brittany (Shawn) Payne; and great-grandchildren, Kendra Newman, Noah Farner, Musashi Gaddis, Reagan Farner, Maddox Newman, Jonah Farner, Rayleigh Schuknecht, Madison Farner, Roni Rymer, Willow Farner, Olive Farner, Jameson Payne, Jackson Payne, Sawyer Allen, Sadie Allen, and Saylor Allen.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Anthony Howard and Rev. Leonard Hunter officiating. Music was provided by Glenda Waters, Kendra Newman, Roni Rymer, Emeerly Howard, and Caymen Howard. Interment followed in the Grassy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Steven Gaddis, Cody Farner, Cory Allen, Tyler Allen, Michael Cochran, Logan Allen, Chad Cochran, and Bryson Allen. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Talley, Mark Dalton, Mary Dalton, Cleo Smith, Shirley Thompson, and Tom Allen. Also, a special thank you to Tara Cantrell. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
