Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Estella (Franklin) Walker, age 77, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Tuesday, July 24, at Fannin Regional Hospital. She was a native of Graham County NC, daughter of the late Jones Clingman Franklin and Carrie Elizabeth Townsend Franklin. She was a member of Morganton Seventh Day Adventist. She worked with the Broyhill Furniture Company as a furniture finisher and also operated the concession stand at the Swan Drive In theater.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Teresa Franklin.
She is survived by her husband John K. Walker, Sr. of the home; One Daughter, Marlene (Walker) Godfrey of Morganton, GA; five Sons, Leonard Walker, and Larry Walker, both of Cumming, GA, John Walker, David Kyle Walker, and Kevin Walker all of Mineral Bluff, GA; four brothers, Paul Franklin of Smyrna, GA, Homer Franklin of Blue Ridge, GA, Robert Franklin of Lenoir, NC, and Finley Franklin of Boone, NC, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at Friday, July 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Lewis Stout officiating. Interment followed in Walker Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mitchell Godfrey, Corey Godfrey, Adam Walker, Wesley Walker, Jeb Walker, Josh Walker, Colin Walker, and Danny Walker.
Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
