The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Mrs. Margaret Jean Jones, age 70 of Blairsville, GA who passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009 in the Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA. Mrs. Jones was born in Polk County, TN on September 8, 1939 to the late Elvin W. Deal. She was a member of Mount Zion (Tumbling Creek) Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones was a member of the V.F. W. Auxiliary in Plattsmans, NE. She is survived by her husband, Tommy G. Jones of Blairsville, GA; son, Donald Gene Jones, Sr. of Copperhill, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jeff Kyle of Blairsville, GA; mother, Lucille Deal of Copperhill, TN; brother, James Elvin Deal of Copperhill, TN; sisters, Betty Sue Lock of Copperhill, TN and Wanda Morau of Copperhill, TN; six grandchildren, Donnie Jones, Jr., Natasha Curtis, Katrina Parks, Jonathan Selley, Jennifer Selley and Stephanie Jones; six great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Lamar O'Neal and Rev. Lloyd Deal officiating. Music will be by the Deal Family and Glen Hope Singers. Pallbearers will be Donald Jones, Sr., Jonathan Selley, Jeff Kyle, Shawn Curtis, Corey Parks, Donnie Jones, Gene Pless and Katrina Parks. Interment will follow in Mount Harmony Cemetery.
