Margaret Louise Franklin, age 62, of Dalton, GA passed away Monday, June 30, 2008 at her home. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Artberry Franklin and Ella Couch Franklin. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Lamar Oxford of Dalton; son, Thomas Fitzgerald Duncan of Ellijay; daughter, Melissa Duncan of Dalton; brothers, Carl Franklin of Blue Ridge and Clarence Franklin of McDonough, GA; sisters, Lillian Campbell of Calhoun and Willis Hosco; and grandchildren, Sarah Walker, Megan Walker, R.J. Walker, and Matthew Walker. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Young officiating. Music was by Frances Thomas, Lois Patterson, Michelle Smith, Renee Reece, Christy Stockton, and Michael Barnes. Pallbearers were Luther Mathis, Zane Franklin, Boyd Franklin, Joe Franklin, Clint Mathis, Mike Thomas, and Bob Mathis. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Locke, Grandchildren, Rocky Campbell, Jo Jo Mathis, Bobby Locke, Arnold Watkins, and Tommy Mathis. Interment followed in the Lebanon Church cemetery.
