The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the funeral services Mrs. Margaret Chancey Wilson Carter, age 67, of McCaysville, GA, who passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Copper Basin, daughter of the late James Arthur "Dob" Chancey and Hazel Hughes Chancey. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy "Fuzz" Wilson and second husband, Beaman M. Carter. Mrs. Carter was retired from Goldkist where she worked for 39 years, and was a member of Friendship #3 Baptist Church.She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Carnes of McCaysville, GA, two brothers, Gerald Chancey and James Chancey both of Turtletown, TN, special friends, Jack and Charmagne Burkett of Turtletown, TN, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.Funeral service will be at Akins Chapel at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 1, 2009, with Rev. Tommy Bell officiating. Music will be by Denise Caldwell. Pallbearers will be Scott Chancey, James Chastain, Tommy Loudermilk, Robert Cochran, Jack Burkett, Jr., and Steve Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darran Smith, Greg Davis and Jim Bandy. Interment will be at Friendship #3 Church Cemetery.
