Obituary

Mrs. Maggie Dessa White Trantham, age 80, of Ducktown passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Copper Basin Medical Center. She was born in Polk County on Tuesday, April 26, 1927. Mrs. Trantham was the daughter of the late Joseph Gurley and Bessie Mae Harris White. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Mrs. Trantham was preceded in death by her husband William R. Trantham. She was survived by a daughter, Mary Taylor of Ducktown; special son-in-law, Gerald Steve Mann; three grandchildren, Richard Stiles, Sherry Taylor and Gail Stiles; five great grandchildren, Ricky Wright, Brenda Crealman, Whitney Taylor, Brooklyn Taylor and Danielle Taylor; four great great grandchildren, Gage Crealman, Sharon Crealman, Nicholas Crealman and Nickola Crealman. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Gerald Mann officiating. Music was by Kristy Mann, Jessica Jones, Gail Norton, Troy Norton, Sherry Taylor, Eric Norton, Lisa Allen and John Dyer. Pallbearers were Sonny Jones, Mac Jones, Lynn Geisler, Harold Harris, Troy Norton and James Taylor. Interment followed in Macedonia (Wolf Creek) Cemetery.
