Madelyn Jeannette Bailey, age 78, of Morganton, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 in Blairsville, GA. Born on October 13, 1939 in Blue Ridge, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ran Walker and Rhoda Sallie Dillingham Walker. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She worked in Data Entry for AAFES. She loved to crochet and give away her creations to family and friends. She also enjoyed camping, reading, anmials, and her pets. She is also preceded in death by two husbands Vinus E. Dockery and Daniel E. Bailey.She is survived by her daughter, Connie Dockery of Morganton; stepson, Daniel Bailey and wife, Shanan of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Vinus London, Sr. of Morganton and Daniel London and wife, Therese of Massapequa, NY; and great-grandchildren, Matthew Vinus London, Jr. of Newnan and Lorelai Rose London of Massapequa, NY. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 27, 2018, at 11:00 am from Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Roger Beck will officiate. Music will be provided by Imogene Stewart and Greg Norton. Interment will follow in the Hemptown Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Mark Dockery, Paul Dockery, Damon Davenport, Tommy Herndon, Carl Collins, Curtis Dillingham will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be: Benny Smith, Neal Wright, Kenneth Turner, Grant Franklin, Tommy Wright, Bobby Jackson, and Arlus Craig.
