Obituary

Lynda Long Daves, a lifelong resident of Fannin County, Georgia, passed away on September 25th, 2021 at the age of 76. Lynda is survived by her son Tony (Penny) Daves, her granddaughter Alesha (Brandon) Stiles, grandson Orin Daves, her great-granddaughters Karleigh-Jayne and Bonnie Stiles, her sister-in-law Teri Long, her nieces Jackie (Jamie) Self and Tayelor Long, her nephews MikeTipton, Mitchelle (Daina) Tipton, and Calvin Long as well as great-nieces and nephews Sheaand Lacey Tipton, Eric and Luke Seabolt, Josie Self, Willie Baldwin, Wiley Tipton, and AddieLong, as well as many, loved cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Calvin Long and mother Lucille Cavendar Long, sisters Sue Tipton, Evelyn Long, and Jayne Beavers, her brother Bobby Long, and great-nephew Carson Long. Lynda was born in Chatsworth, GA on June 24th of 1945. After her birth, her family moved to Morganton, GA where they all lived for the rest of their lives and raised their families. Lynda graduated from East Fannin High School in 1963. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, George Daves, and they welcomed their only child, Tony Daves, in June of 1964. Lynda went to work shortly after as a para pro for the Fannin County School System. She worked at Morganton Elementary in various grade levels in addition to The Neighborhood Youth program for several years. Caring for children was something Lynda always considered her life's work, but she chose to leave the profession at the birth of her first grandchild, Alesha, to take care of her at home. After leaving the education field, she pursued her second career as a beautician and attended Tri-county community college in Murphy, NC. She would go on to work for several years with her dear friend Cheryl Ballew at Lakewood Beauty. In addition to working at the beauty salon, she would also work part-time at Amoco North on hwy 5 where she met many customers with whom she would develop lifelong friendships. Lynda was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend and was loved by many.She enjoyed helping and working with children, caring for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as being a mentor to those who neededdirection in their lives. Lynda's love for God, her family, and those she cared for have left an impact on all of their lives. A private graveside service will take place on a later date at Concord Baptist Church in Morganton, GA. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Lyndas memory to the Alzheimers Association.
