IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynda Sue
Chambers
December 26, 1955 – March 28, 2025
Mrs. Lynda Sue Chambers, age 69, of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Lynda was born on December 26, 1955 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Gerald A. Nigg and Barbara F. Roberts Nigg.
Lynda lived a life full of love, creativity, and kindness. Growing up, she moved often, following the nomadic path of her father, who was an actual rocket scientist. This pattern continued when she met the love of her life, Glenn, in a freshman English class at California State University. After marrying, they embarked upon a lifetime of travel across the United States, following the path of Glenn's career in the auto parts industry. No matter where they lived, Lynda had a special way of making every house a home.
A devoted mother to three wonderful sons, Lynda loved them deeply and took immense pride in their lives. She always had a special love for babies, and the arrival of her granddaughter, Aria, brought her so much joy.
Lynda was a talented artist who expressed herself through painting, interior design, home repairs and handyman work, tiling floors, sewing (making clothing from scratch not only for herself and her siblings growing up, but for her sister's wedding procession as well), ceramics, and porcelain doll-making (becoming expert enough to teach classes and to repair old dolls). Her love of bright colors and creativity shined through in everything she touched. She not only created works of beauty, but parlayed all of these creative skills into small businesses that helped to put their children through school.
Lynda was also passionate about cooking, constantly exploring ways to make meals both delicious and nutritious.
With a warm smile and a kind heart, she had a special way of making people feel welcomed and loved. She spent years volunteering at the Family Connection Food Pantry, finding joy in helping others.
Lynda's legacy is one of love, generosity, and creativity. She touched many lives, and her spirit and memory will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Glenn Michael Chambers; sons, Chris, Matthew and his wife, Linda, and Patrick and his wife, Devlin; grandchild, Aria; and siblings, Shana Starr, Shari Vivilaqua, Mark Nigg, and Peggy Talbert.
A celebration of Lynda's life was held on May 3rd at 2 pm from the Watkins Barn & Venue and a reception followed the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lynda's name may be made to the Cancer Research Institute or the Alzheimer's Association.
