Obituary

Mrs. Belle Willis, a remarkable Christian woman, who brought warmth, love, and culinary delights to the lives of those around her, peacefully passed away on August 28, 2023, in Ellijay, GA, at the age of 86. She was born on August 5, 1937, in the Boardtown Community of Gilmer County, GA, to her late parents, James Walter Frady and Mabel Irene Suits Frady.

Belle's faith journey began at Salem Baptist Church, where she was baptized, and her devotion to her faith remained steadfast throughout her life. She later found fellowship at Mt. Pleasant (Buckhorn) Baptist Church and became a cherished member of Northcut Baptist Church.

Known for her hospitality and homemaking skills, Belle's immaculate house was a reflection of her caring nature. She had an unparalleled talent for preparing delicious meals, always ensuring that her family and friends were greeted with the warmth of a home-cooked feast. Her love extended beyond the table, as she delighted in tending to her vegetable garden, skillfully preserving her harvest through canning and creating delectable homemade jellies and pickles.

Belle's legacy of love and family is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Rev. Harold Willis of Blue Ridge, and their children: James Howard Willis of Rome, Anne Marie Roe of Marietta, Jonathan Harold (Hannah) Willis of Dallas, Mark David (Jackie) Willis of Temple, and Andrew Cebron (Ida) Willis of Argyle, TX; their grandchildren, Ellen Martha Ann (Stephen) Ward, Virginia James (Jacob) DeAngelus, Tony Grant Roberts, Jr., Shaun Marcus Anthony Roberts, Jonathan Trevor (Courtney) Willis, Amber Ruth Willis, Devin Ashley Willis, Rachel Lauren Willis, Ava Victoria Willis, Ian Andrew Willis, Joshua Zambrano, and Gracie Zambrano, ; great grandchildren, Micah Ward, Owen Ward, Carter Willis, Dalton Chandler, and Reagan Crook ; a sister, Doris Bradford of Jacksonville, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends also mourn her loss.

Mrs. Willis is preceded in death by her children; Anita Lynn Willis and Janice Elaine Willis, as well as her parents and siblings, Fred Frady, Bluma Lee Jones, Nerva Lou Palmer, Clint Frady, Winston Frady, and Raymond Frady, who preceded her in death.

A celebration of Mrs. Belle Willis' life will be held in the Chapel of Akins-Cobb of Blue Ridge on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Roger Beck presiding over the service. Musical tributes will be provided by Angela McRee. Following the service, interment will take place at Young's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons and grandson-in-laws serving as pallbearers.

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
