The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Lula Edna Womble, age 102, of Ducktown, TN who went home to her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2008. She was born on January 3, 1906, the eldest of ten siblings.She is survived by her three sons, J.C. and wife, Lola Coleman, Joe and wife, Louise Womble and Edwin Womble; One daughter, Doris and husband Carmel Gibson; and son-in-law, Bazelle and wife Elsie Nelson; one sister, Hope Lowery and one brother, Warren "Pete" Runion. Edna had 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents John and Gertrude Runion, husband John Calvin Coleman, husband Jerry Washington Womble; two sons, Spencer Coleman and Dick Womble; two daughters, Deryl Nelson and Marths "Footsie" Sisson; two grandchildren, Danny Coleman and Jeannie Coleman Newsome, two brothers, Johnny and Baxter Runion, and five sisters, Lennie Kimsey, Jessie Sadler, Beverly Witt, Trixie Pendland and Tootsie Adams.Edna was born in Farner, TN and lived in Ducktown most of her life. She was an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of Ducktown Methodist Church.A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 21 at 2:00 PM at the Ducktown Methodist Church with Rev. Renny Whittenbarger officiating. Music will be by Mike Fabian and David Bigham.
