Mrs. LueVena Watson Boersma, age 92, of Ducktown, TN passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Mrs. Boersman was born in Fannin County, GA on November 26, 1918 to the late William Tom Watson and Minnie Adelade Carver Watson. She worked for Independent Life Insurance Company in sales. She was of the Jehovah's Witness faith and was preceded in death by her husband Robert Boersma and a son, Jack Benny Thomas. She is survived by three sons, James Brown of Blue Ridge, Pete Thomas of Blue Ridge, and Bill Thomas of Panama City FL; daughters, Helen Marie Foster of Blue Ridge and Minnie Pearl Mason of Jackson, Mississippi; brother, Henry Watson of Cleveland, TN; 25 grandchildren; and a large number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Elder Charles Brick officiating. Pallbearers were Jimmy Wood, John Anthony DiLorenzo, Jr., John Anthony DiLorenzo, Sr., Scott Caylor, Edward L. Thomas, Arvil Patterson, and Gene Pelfrey. Interment followed in Mobile Church Cemetery.
