Mrs. Lucille Kendall Carpenter, age 84, of Suches, GA passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 in the Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late William Walker and Alice Taffar Walker. She worked as a seamstress and was a member of Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son Danny Kendall and a daughter Alice Burrows. She is survived by her husband Gerald L. Carpenter of Suches, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Denny L. and Diane Kendall of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Stephen Ricky Kendall of Suches; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Walter Areaux of Waleska, GA, Lana Kay and Fred Grande of Tuscon, Arizona, and Andrea and Russell Fletcher of Corning California; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Garrett and Rev. Buddy Suit officiating. Music was by the Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Church Choir. Pallbearers were Denny Kendall, Rick Kendall, Walter Areaux, Harold Payne, Jay Tipton, Fred Grande, and Robert Craft. Honorary pallbearers were Diane Kendall, Linda Areauz, Lana Grande, and Andrea Fletcher. Interment followed in Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Church Cemetery.
