The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces funeral services for Emma Louise Newman, age 73, of Farner, TN who passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Louise was a born February 22, 1937 to the late Harley and Nellie Coleman Raper. She was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed reading, cooking, fishing and the outdoors, but most of all she loved taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by son, Brian Newman, brothers, Arvil Raper, Clarence Raper and Bill Raper, sister Beatrice Quinn. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Calvin Newman of the home; children, Sandy (Calvin) Jack of Farner, TN, Trooper Dilbeck of Blue Ridge, GA, Jerrie (Roger) Brannon of Lenoir City, TN, Jody Newman of Villa Rica, GA, Bill Newman of Farner,TN, David (Jennifer) Newman of Farner, TN; Eighteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Farris Reid officiating. Music will be by Teresa Chastain, Tina Taylor and Clyde Rose. Pallbearers include Steve Adams, Timmy Payne, Randy Raper, Paul Adams, Ray Raper, Ben Jory, Tommy Adams and Russell Towl. Interment will follow in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
