Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. Lottie Henry Conner, age 62, of Stone Mountain, GA who passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008 in the Odyssey House in Decatur, GA. Born in Cherokee County, GA, he was the son of the late Wilburn Atlas Conner and Grace Elizabeth Broome Conner. He worked for Dow Chemical Company for 26 years as a Lab Technician. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, a member of Copperhill Lodge #656 F&AM, and a member of Morganton #394 O.E.S. He was a United States Army veteran and was preceded in death by his father Wilburn Atlas Conner. He is survived by his wife, Joan F. Conner of Stone Mountain, GA; sons, Wallace Randall Conner and wife Belinda of Sevierville, TN, and Michael A. Conner of Dalton, GA; daughter, Virginia Rece and husband William of Stone Mountain, GA; stepson, Mathew Goble of Dalton; mother, Grace Conner of Blue Ridge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Mary Ann Conner of Morganton, Roy and Gail Conner of Blue Ridge, and Jimmy and Sunshine Conner of Grand Prairie, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Tony Lyons of Tona, Virginia, and Joan and Mike Walden of Dawsonville, GA; mother and father-in-law, James and Leola Burchfield of Dalton, GA; brother-in-law, Tommy Burchfield of Dalton, GA; three grandchildren, William Randall Conner, Arielle Rece, and Christian Rece; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Victor Morgan and Rev. Dr. Paul Elliott officiating. Eulogy will be by William Rece. Music will be by Patsy Beaver. Pallbearers will be Larry Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Derrick Conner, John Henry Waters, Tommy Davenport, and Michael Walden. Interment will follow in Hyde Cemetery with military honors by North Georgia Honor Guard. Bagpipes will be played by Duane Mills. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
