Mr. Lonnie Wilson Cheaves, age 41, of Ringgold, GA passed away on January 6, 2025. Lonnie was born on December 9, 1983 to the late Howard Eugene Cheaves and Lori Ann Dockery. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his papaw. Lonnie had a passion for big trucks and eighteen-wheelers which led to him working several years as a truck driver.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lori Ann Dockery; biological father, Howard Eugene Cheaves; sister, Carol Jean Cheaves; niece, Lily Cash; uncle, Gibby Nelson; aunt, Janet Hardaman; and grandparents, Lonnie and Carol Dockery.

Lonnie is survived by his children, Cadie Cheaves, Tater Cheaves, and Ciara Cheaves; mother of children, Courtney Starr; brother, Tommy (Cassie) Nelson; father, Thomas Nelson Sr.; nieces and nephews, Kimber Ann Nelson, Ruger Wesley Nelson, and James Cash; and aunts and uncles, Mark Neal & Crystal Dockery, Brenda & John Ayers, Ida Green, Liz Watson, Nell & Kenneth Jenkins, and Kenneth Nelson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 1:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel. Interment will follow in the Swanson Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to help defray final expenses.
