Mrs. Lois Viola Russell, age 85, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA . Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late John Cole and Minnie Harper Cole. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Russell and her son, Richard Russell. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Gail Russell of Epworth and Ronald Russell of Blue Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Charles Patterson of Ducktown; brother, Kenneth Cole of Kennesaw, GA; sister, Jewell Burrong of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Tim Patterson, Justin Russell, and Aaron Russell; and four great grandchildren, Dalton Patterson, Jessica Patterson, Kayleigh Russell, and Kelsey Russell. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Bill McGill officiating. Music was by Charlotte Brown and Carol Thomas. Pallbearers were Johnny Hughes, Jerry Cole, Reid Mathis, Danny McFarland, Ray Watkins, and Tim Patterson.
