Linda Carol Payne, age 76, of Copperhill, TN passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 in the Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. She was born on November 3, 1944 in Summerville, GA to the late Ralph J. Bryson and Mary Magdelene Peace Bryson. Linda had worked at Shaw Industries as a hyster driver. She was a member of Mount Zion (Tumbling Creek) Baptist Church. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles E. Payne. Survivors are son, Ralph "Sam" Hayden Payne (Tammy) of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Teresa Payne (Donald) of McCaysville, GA, Joyce Allen (Bryan) of Copperhill, TN and Sandy Hughes (John) of Ducktown, TN; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph P. "Pete" Bryson of Ringgold, GA; sister, Patricia Ann Hall of Tunnel Hill, GA and niece, Martha Michael "Mickey" of Copperhill, TN. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Mount Zion (Tumbling Creek) Baptist Church with Rev. Doyle Davis officiating. Music was provided by Angie and Alex Deal. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Justin Payne, Jacob Allen, David Hughes, Richard Oliver, Billy Gillespie and Michael Belcher. Honorary Pallbearers were Hunter Payne and Cory Deal.
